Diary of a Make-up Artist Student – Week 8

Last week before holidays…beach, shops, and relaxation here I come!!!

This week as a class we have been catching up on a few of the sessions we missed over the past couple of weeks, well for those of us who had time away.  We covered 3D lips – making lips look bigger and fuller by playing with highlights, shadows, and textures; mastering foundations – the key to a glowing complexion; perfecting the smoky Eye to add a little drama; we explored wigs – not just for clowns and balding gents, 1920’s Hair – finger wave; Space Buns – funky twin hair buns; and last but not least Bridal Hair – we used hot rollers to provide volume, then weaved, looped, knotted, etc until we had big bouncy romantic curls…so beautiful!

Keeping things interesting we learned a few techniques to apply temporary/fake tattoos by using a variety of make-ups we reproduced an image on the skin to provide a temporary image that is fantastic option for photo shoots, film, stage, and the runway.  Nice little technique to have in my box of tricks.

Anyway, thats it from me for term 1.  It’s time for me to hook up with the Easter bunny, or at least the two weeks holiday it brings – Happy Easter everyone, see you in 2 weeks!!
