Diary of a Make-up Artist Student, Term 2 Week 2 & 3

Over the past couple of weeks we have continued our journey through the different time periods of make-up, traveling from the 1800’s to the 1920s all the way through to the 80s.  We have been smashing out all the different looks to cover both make-up and hair and now we are doing a full review to ensure we have covered off all that is required for our case studies.

This week we moved onto how to break down a script by researching The Wizard of Oz production to be performed by Nambour State High School at the end of May.  For 5 nights we will actually be doing make up for the show – very exciting!!  In response to the script we are creating a more edgy and funky look (i.e. not a traditional look) for the cast of 13 main cast and 60 extras.  One of our students Ricky Leigh (from Ricky Leigh Photography) will also be there taking photos of our work which we hope to share with you post performance so watch this space!
